The Results- The ongoing search for an all natural fly spray

The results are in for Pyranha’s Zero Bite, an all natural chemical free fly spray product that can safely be used on dogs…it works! Also, while testing the Zero Bite from Pyranha I ran into another chemical/deet free fly spray product that can safely be used on dogs called Liquid Fence for Pets. Both of these products did the job they were designed for and I would recommend them both to people who are looking for some protection for their dogs. But for the ease of consumers, I’m going to compare them both below and then you can decide which one is for you.

Application

Zero-Bite: Spray Bottle- I found it a little hard to use it around the head because I didn’t want to get it into my dog’s eyes. I would spray then usually wipe it on to make sure that it was applied in the correct places and gently wipe it on my dog’s ears.

Liquid Fence: Towelette- I like this a lot better then the spray bottle. It comes in a HUGE Towelette that you simply wipe on your dog which allowed me to get around her head and her ears with ease.

Smell

Zero-Bite: Has a strong Wintergreen scent, a little over powering but I did find I liked it better then the pine smells from “OFF” and for those that use Pyranha’s Wipe N’Spray fly spray will find that it’s a much more pleasant then that. Overall for a fly spray it doesn’t smell too bad if you don’t mind Wintergreen.

Liquid Fence: Has a more of a Peppermint smell to it, not as powerful as Zero-Bite but if you don’t like the smell of Peppermint this product isn’t for you. Again I found the smell to be more pleasant then any of the bug sprays that are sold at stores for humans.

Conclusion

I prefer the Liquid Net for the ease of use with the Towelettes as with the Spray Bottle I found that some spots didn’t get covered that well (especially around the ears).

Pyranha Zero Bite Natural Fly Spray

Pyranha, a leader in insecticide control, has released a new product this past April that is an all natural based Fly Spray. This new and innovative product is called Zero-Bite and has been approved by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) as a zero chemical pesticide. This Zero-Bite spray repels not only flies, but mosquitoes, gnats, ticks, lice and fleas and it is safe to use on your dogs (which their other formulations were not safe for your canine companions).

Now, while all that sounds great on paper, what has been the issue in the past is those “all natural” and water based sprays don’t really work. So I have decided to take this new formulation on the ultimate test drive. Here in Minnesota we have been getting crazy rain this spring (along with the rest of the country having insane weather so far this year) and since we are known for mosquitoes this year it will be especially bad because of all the wet weather. So, to me it sounds like the perfect conditions to try out this new spray!

Within the next few days we will receive our shipment from Pyranha with a few cases of this Zero-Bite included. I will then be using some on my dog and walking along the Luce Line Trail. For those unfamiliar with the Luce Line it’s a very long walking, biking, horse riding and snow mobile trail here in Minnesota. On the hot summer days while walking this trail the shade provided by the trees is a haven for all sorts of flying bugs. I will be testing if the bugs will even land on my dog when she is sprayed, if they do for how long, and if they swarm as usual and then will report my findings back for everyone to read.

Stay tuned to see the Pyranha Zero-Bite results!
